Zero Sulfite
Zero sulfite wines, also known as sulfite-free wines or no-added-sulfite wines, are wines made without the addition of sulfites during the winemaking process. Sulfites, specifically sulfur dioxide (SO2), are a natural byproduct of fermentation and are commonly used in winemaking as a preservative to prevent spoilage and oxidation.
It's important to note that while zero sulfite wines do not have added sulfites, trace amounts of naturally occurring sulfites may still be present due to the fermentation process. Additionally, zero sulfite wines may require extra care in handling and storage to maintain their quality and freshness.
