Domaine Julien Gros, situated in the Burgundy region of France, is known for producing exceptional wines that exemplify the unique terroir of Corton. Led by winemaker Julien Gros, the estate showcases a deep understanding of the land and a commitment to crafting wines of elegance and finesse.
After having worked for several wineries as a winegrower in Burgundy (Domaine Paul Misset and Jayer-Gilles) and in the Rhône valley (Famille Perrin & Fils), it was in January 2016 that Julien created the Domaine Julien GROS, in taking over the operation of several family plots.
The vineyards of Domaine Julien Gros in Corton are meticulously tended to, with a focus on sustainable viticulture practices. The combination of the region's favorable climate, limestone-rich soils, and precise vineyard management contribute to the exceptional quality of the grapes.
The estate covers 2 hectares and produces 4 appellations:
Savigny-les-Beaune red Clos du village (monopoly)
Savigny-les Beaune blanc Clos du village (monopoly)
Corton Grand Cru Clos du Roi
Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
In the cellar, Julien Gros practices a thoughtful and meticulous winemaking approach. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo a gentle fermentation process to preserve their delicate flavors and aromas. The wines are then aged in French oak barrels, allowing them to develop complexity, structure, and a harmonious integration of flavors.
