About the Producer
Champagne Delamotte is a prestigious Champagne house located in the village of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger in the Côte des Blancs region of Champagne, France. The history of Delamotte dates back to 1760, making it one of the oldest Champagne houses in the region.
Delamotte is closely associated with the renowned Champagne house Salon, and both are owned by the Laurent-Perrier group. The vineyards of Delamotte are located in some of the most prestigious Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages in Champagne, including Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, and Cramant.
One of the hallmarks of Delamotte Champagne is its focus on producing exceptional Blanc de Blancs Champagnes, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes. The use of Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, known for its high-quality Chardonnay vineyards, results in wines that are elegant, vibrant, and expressive.
Delamotte Champagnes are characterized by their finesse, purity, and precision. They often display delicate floral aromas, notes of citrus fruits, and a subtle minerality that reflects the unique chalky soils of the region. The Champagnes undergo a lengthy aging process, allowing the wines to develop complexity and depth.
In addition to their Blanc de Blancs offerings, Delamotte also produces a small range of other Champagnes, including a non-vintage Brut and a rosé Champagne. These wines maintain the house's commitment to quality and reflect the characteristics of the region.
Delamotte Champagne has gained a reputation for its consistent excellence and is highly regarded by Champagne enthusiasts and critics alike. The house's dedication to traditional winemaking methods, combined with the exceptional terroir of the Côte des Blancs, results in Champagnes that are refined, elegant, and reflective of their prestigious heritage.
